Review of THE ELDWARVES by Rob Clague

THE ELDWARVES plunges Lorrie, along with best-friend Lymble into adventure. Together they confront the unexpected threat from the trolls--led by an unusually intelligent, but mad, ruler. The wizzard Ford can only watch and hope. Anything he does may affect the prophesy, may mean that his chances to gain the wisdom of his lost wizzard ancestors will be gone forever.
Author Rob Clague creates a complex and fascinating world with multiple races, layers of complexity, and shades of good and evil. Clague skillfully shows the interaction between the youthful Eldwarves and the damaged Troll King, and digs deeper into the characters' personality and motivation.
Fans of high-fantasy will definitely want to add THE ELDWARVES to their keeper collection.

In the Ritual of Discovery, Eldwarf youths learn their future--whether they are to become smiths, forging the magical blueswords that give their race so much wealth, or scouts, to help the caravans that tie together the cities of the Elves, Dwarves, and their mixed kin, the Eldwarves. The ritual has been going on for years, but this year, something different happens. One young Eldwarf appears to have both attributes--and the wizzard Ford, who had been hoping for such a result, predicts great things for the young Eldwarf. Of course he has to stay alive first.
